This privacy policy (together with our terms of use and any other documents referred to in it) sets out the basis on which any information (which may include personal information) we collect from you, or that you provide to us, through this website will be processed by Squarespace, our hosting platform. WHO WE ARE

This site is operated by Chinatown Music, who is a data controller responsible for the processing of personal data under applicable data protection law.

INFORMATION WE MAY COLLECT FROM YOU

When you use the Site or contact us by e-mail, social media, SMS, telephone, or other methods, we may collect and process the following data about you:

INFORMATION WE COLLECT FROM OTHER SOURCES

We may receive information about you if you use any of the other websites operated by Chinatown Music or the other services Chinatown Music provide. In this case we will have informed you when we collected that data that it may be shared internally and combined with data collected on this Site.

We are also working closely with third parties (including, for example, business partners, sub-contractors in technical, payment and delivery services, advertising networks, analytics providers, social networks such as Facebook and Twitter, search information providers, credit reference agencies, third parties who enable sign on functionality and social network integration) and may receive information about you from them.

If you choose to use features on this Site or other Chinatown Music websites that connect to your online profiles or social media accounts (“Connected Accounts”), we may collect any information that you permit through your settings on those Connected Accounts. For example, if you log in to our site using your Facebook account and choose to allow Facebook to share your profile with us, we may collect that information. Information we receive from Connected Accounts with your consent may include email address, first and last name, location (hometown and country), gender, date of birth, likes, posts or other social activity. When you buy something on this Site, we collect personal information from you to fulfill the order. We may collect information like your:

We share this information with Squarespace, our online store hosting provider, so that they can provide Site services to us.

As you go through checkout, this site may auto-complete your shipping and billing address by sharing what you type with the Google Places API and returning suggestions to you to improve your checkout experience.

We may share your personal information with any Chinatown Music Company, listed here, and with selected third parties including:

  • Business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors for the performance of any contract we enter into with them or you in order to provide you with a product or service;

  • Business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors to provide you with information about promotions and offers;

  • Relevant Chinatown Music artists and/or their representatives;

  • Advertisers, advertising networks and social networks that require the data to select and serve relevant adverts to you and others. We may also use aggregate information to help advertisers reach the kind of audience they want to target. We may make use of the personal data we have collected from you to enable us to comply with our advertisers’ wishes by displaying their advertisement to that target audience;

  • Analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of our Site.

We may disclose your personal information to third parties:

  • In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets;

  • If the Chinatown Music Company that controls this Site or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by it about its customers will be one of the transferred assets;

STORAGE AND TRANSFER OF DATA

All the information you provide may be processed and stored, transferred or accessed by entities around the world as described in this policy, including the United States, European Union, Canada, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.

We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy. We have put in place appropriate technical and organisational procedure to safeguard the information we collected on this Site.

Our Site includes Social Media Features, such as the Facebook Like button. These Features may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our Site, and may set a cookie to enable the Feature to function properly. Social Media Features and Widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Site. Your interactions with these Features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing it.

You can log in to our Site using sign-in services such as Facebook Connect or an Open ID provider. These services will authenticate your identity and provide you the option to share certain personal information with us such as your name and email address to pre-populate our sign up form. Services like Facebook Connect give you the option to post information about your activities on this Site to your profile page to share with others within your network.

You are responsible for keeping your information current and up-to-date. You may update your information by contacting us as described in the “Contact” section below. You also have the right, where provided under applicable law, to ask us not to process your personal data

If your personal information changes, or if you no longer desire our service, you may seek to correct, update, amend, delete or remove it by contacting us as described in the “Contact” section below. We will respond to your request to access within a reasonable period (usually within 30 days).

Do-Not-Track Signals and Similar Mechanisms. Some web browsers may transmit “do-not-track” signals to the websites and other online services with which a user communicates. There is no industry standard that governs what, if anything, websites should do when they receive these signals. Chinatown Music currently does not take action in response to these signals.

Our Site, our newsletters and other communications may, from time to time, contain links to and from the websites of our partner networks, advertisers and affiliates. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies.

This section of this Privacy Policy applies only if you use the Site from a country that is a Member State of the European Economic Area, and supplements the information in this Privacy Policy.

By using this logic, it helps us personalize your interactions with Chinatown Music and Chinatown Music artists. For you, this means that you may see online advertisements, direct marketing communications (if you have subscribed), or other advertising or marketing messages or special offers based on your activity on our Sites or interactions with Chinatown Music Companies or our third party partners.
