Brighton Liu (刘博)
Brighton Liu is a singer, producer, and the mastermind behind Chinatown Music. Over the years he has been one of the most active and versatile artists from Chinese community in Australia.
Coming from an intensely musical family, Brighton has stage experiences spanning over 2 decades. In his early life, he had years of classical piano and vocal training. Before releasing his own albums, Brighton started his career as a demo singer and backing vocalist, and had worked with a number of high-profile artists and producers in Beijing, China. After he moved to Australia in the mid-2000s, Brighton actively participated in community events, and has since performed at venues including the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Town Hall, and Melbourne's Crown Casino. His style explores a wide range of music, moving between the worlds of pop and alternative, and experimenting with all the weird stuff in-between.
Off the stage, Brighton has expanded his involvement of music creation into other areas as a mixing & mastering engineer, producer, vocal producer, and vocal trainer. Covering a diverse range of genres including pop, R&B, hip hop, electronic and rock, he always stays true to what matters the most - the song. Brighton's strengths lie in his fast and flexible working style, and uncanny ability to adapt new trends and techniques.
In addition, Brighton is responsible for mastering of live recordings from ReCharge Live House - a monthly live music event held in Sydney's Chinatown dedicated to showcasing musicians from the Chinese community in Australia. Over the years, Brighton has even brought his vocal talent to other fields outside the world of music, such as news, documentary and ads voiceover for TV networks. He is also a video producer specialising in music-related content.
